- Quickly see if WordPress website is fast enough via checking LCP value. Check which popular speed optimization plugins used or missing.
Known issues
- Not all plugins leave identifiable traces on frontend. They cannot be detected.
- Some security or optimization plugin can hide plugin traces on front end. Those plugins or in some cases WordPress CMS cannot be detected.
- Extension available in developer mode only. It is not submitted to chrome web store or any other public extension stores.
How to install?
- Download extension .zip file from veppa website.
- Extract to the folder where it will not be deleted. Chrome will use this folder in order to enable extension.
- Navigate in chrome “Three dot menu” -> “Extensions” -> “Manage Extensions” page.
- Switch to enable “Developer mode” toggle at the top right corner.
- Click “Load unpacked” button on left top corner.
- Select folder where you unpacked zip file.
- Extension will be installed. Switch enable toggle to enable extension in Chrome browser.
How to use extension?
- After installing you will see extension icon in chrome browser navigation bar next to search / URL field. Same place where all extension icons visible.
- Visit any website that you want to check.
- Then click extension button. It will detect if page is built with WordPress and list detected theme and plugins.
- To learn more about plugin /theme click on its name. Related google search results will open in new window.
- To find more websites using same theme/plugin click “Search” icon next to detected name. publicwww website will open with results.
- To see how particular plugin/theme detected hover over its name. Tooltip will show detected string identification related to it.
- On slow pages where LCP bigger than 2,5 seconds you will see actual LCP value at the bottom of extension popup.
