Find your Social Profile links and add to WordPress using Rank Math SEO plugin.

I use the Rank Math SEO plugin for linking to my social profiles through structured data.

Here is how to add your other profiles to your WordPress website:

  1. Navigate to “Rank Math SEO” → “Titles & meta” → “Social Meta” → “Additional Profiles” field.
  2. Add URLs of your social profiles. One URL per line.
  3. Click the “Save Changes” button.

Now when you test structured data using Google you will see that your profiles will be shown inside your “Article” structured data.

Social Profiles will appear as (sameAs) record inside Article Structured Data on your website.

This is how it looks in a testing tool.

You can also add general structured data to your website using the setup guide. There you can define default image, name, default type of content etc.

What are Social Profiles?

Social Profiles are your profiles on different platforms. It can be social media platforms like twitter, instagram, facebook, pinterest, Youtube etc. As well as professional profiles like WordPress, Github, Linkedin, Dribble, Behance, DeviantArt, Upwork, Udemy etc.

Those are platforms where you share your knowledge and help people.

As a website owner you may need to link to some of your related profiles.

Why link to your Social Profiles?

Social Profiles are identification of your Authority.

Linking your related social profiles will help people and Search Engines to find you on other platforms. You can link to your experience and already established authority on other web platforms.

For users you can link to those profiles in your about page or in the footer of your website. These are visible links that will be clicked and new personal connections will be made.

For search engines you can add semantic links to those profiles using structured data. This is an additional suggestion to search engines to show that you are the same person on the internet adding value through different platforms.

Social profiles will show your authority and knowledge to users and search engines.

Conclusion

Adding your related social profiles where you share your knowledge or interact with people in your niche is an easy step. Structured data along with real clickable links to your profiles will act as a hint to Search Engines. They may use it to quickly identify and use authority linked from various social profiles to rank your content.
